You won’t believe what we just finished upstairs at the Collective... a brand new penny floor! It’s not just any floor. It’s a real labor of love that took a ton of patience and hard work. Since the government stopped making pennies, gathering enough of them was a challenge. But we pulled it off, and now the space is ready to open again.

How We Got All Those Pennies

When the penny production got canceled, it felt like a race against time. We had to hunt down pennies everywhere. The coolest part? We didn’t just throw them down randomly. We sorted them by color and rust level to create a unique design that plays with light and texture.

The Art of Penny Placement

After sorting, the real work began. The team stayed late many nights after closing, carefully placing each penny by hand. We sealed the floor with a special coating to keep it durable and shiny for years to come. The whole process was slow but super satisfying, kind of like putting together a giant, shiny puzzle.

Why This Floor Means So Much to Us

This penny floor isn’t just a cool feature, it’s a symbol of patience and teamwork. For vintage lovers like us, it’s a reminder that even the smallest things like a penny can come together to make something amazing. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter when you visit. People love spotting the different shades and textures, and it’s fun to think about where each penny might have come from.

What’s Next for the Collective

Now that the penny floor is done, the space upstairs is ready for you to explore again. We’re planning some fun events and hangouts to celebrate the new look. If you’re into unique, handmade details and love a good story behind what you see, this floor is definitely worth checking out.

If you want to be part of the next creative project, the penny floor is just the beginning.
